Seattle Live with Passion Potluck

After a gorgeous week in Seattle, unfortunately the weather changed a bit just in time for the LWP Potluck. There were intermittent  showers and much cooler temperatures for the event, but being true north-westerners everybody still hung-out outside and pretended that the weather was fine. The evening included great food, pickleball, basketball, soccer and most importantly great conversations. For the second year, the Seattle LWP Potluck coincided with the end of the Seattle PV week so the volunteers and potluck goers had a lot to talk about. Besides the traveling PVs, there were five locals who joined in the service activities during the week and they were all in attendance at the potluck. All in all a wonderful evening was had by all, and monies were raised for the PVs.

We Need Your LWP Sponsors By Tomorrow

Sign up to help sponsor this year's Live with Passion and your company or group will be put on the string sacks that will be given to all the LWP participants from NYC to Seattle. The deadline to give us names for Live with Passion sponsors is tomorrow.  If you or someone you know is planning on helping to sponsor this year's LWP, please get us the sponsor name by tomorrow so we can pass it along to the printers.

Help Support the PVs in New Jersey

There will be two Live with Passion wine tasting events in the north Jersey area on the first weekend in May. On May 2nd it will be in Clark, NJ and on May 3rd in Westfield, NJ. If you are interested in attending either of these events, please contact Mary Eileen at mfay@ucesc.org.

It's Cool to Be Part of the "Live With Passion"

It is time for the official kick-off of the 7^th Annual Live with Passion!

The LWP has always been a successful fundraiser for the PVs and this year we have our goal set high. This specific event can help determine the longevity of the PVs, so it is up to you to help the PVs continue past this summer. Get involved! Be a sponsor, host an event, participate in an event, or better yet, all three!

• Sponsors – This year instead of t-shirts we will be doing string bags. We thought these might be more useful for people, and especially good for taking to sites in the summer   : )  We still need to have sponsors, but with less printable space, we will just be printing the names and not the logos of each sponsor. We have a pretty quick turnaround with our printer, so we are asking for all sponsor names to be in by Friday, April 4^th. These sponsors, with a donation of as little of $50 each, help underwrite all the costs associated with the LWP (bags, mailings, materials), so all funds raised go 100% to the programs of the PVs. • Date – Instead of having a specific date, we are aiming to have the majority of the events in the spring, allowing for flexibility with your schedules. The bags will be available by the end of April.

• Events – Be creative, pretty much anything can be turned into a fundraiser. Examples of past events:  wine tasting, bingo, raffles, potlucks, garage sales, bike rides, runs, walks, haircuts, hikes, music concerts, planting, soup suppers, dress down days at school, etc. The LWP is a great chance to gather your friends and family together and help support the PVs.

• Publicity – Please let us know when you plan your event and what it is, so we can include it on our LWP Blog (www.pvlivewithpassion.blogspot.com ) and website. The blog is a great place to check out past events and get an idea of the history of the rich history of the LWP. If you need any assistance in creating flyers or other marketing information, let us know we would be happy to help.

Brooklyn Live with Passion

During the Peace Camp in Brooklyn a group of volunteers walked across the iconic Brooklyn Bridge for a Live With Passion event.  Despite the rain and some obstructed views due to bridge repair work, the volunteers persevered.  The walk was filled with good conversation and memorable moments.  The day way enjoyed by local New Yorkers and visitors alike.

Australia Live with Passion

On June 3 there was an international Live With Passion event at Kings Park in Perth, Australia!  Volunteers, friends, and family enjoyed a beautiful day of walking in the warm sun of “Down Under”.  The views of both nature and the city along with the wonderful companionship made the day a reminder of what the PVs are all about no matter where in the world they are.
