Yonkers Area LWP
Our Bike/Hike on May 5 was great! The weather was spectacular --
bright sunshine, not a cloud in the sky, perfect temperature. Ed
started off his bike ride at our house, took a tour of the Bronx
Greenway, circled the Jerome Reservoir, and then picked up the
Putnam Trail in Van Cortlandt Park. The ride along the former
Putnam Railroad trail continued through Yonkers, Hastings,
Ardsley, and Elmsford. Ed rode for a total of 28 miles!
Peggy set off on her hike a little while later in Pleasantville, and followed the North County Trail through a beautiful scenic route to Elmsford. Her hike was a total of 5.5 miles.
Peggy and Ed met at the Captain Lawrence Brewery in Elmsford, where there was some much-needed rest and recuperation. They were joined there by our son Michael (a PV since age 4) and Ed's brother (father of PV's Liz and Ray Mechmann). We timed our Bike/Hike perfectly -- Peggy beat Ed to their goal by only about 100 yards!
Generous sponsors of the Bike/Hike donated $1,000 to the PV's. Thanks to all!!

Washington DC Lives with Passion
For the fourth year, PVs in the DC area hosted a Live with Passion Event!
The week prior to the LWP event has been rainy and generally
cold so we were prepared for the worst However
Mother Nature came through and the sun came out bright the morning of
our ride/run. This year’s activity had to be cut short due to conflicting schedules
but this didn’t deter our group of PV supporters as we started our ride on the
C&O canal in Washington,
DC.
We had seven people take part in a bike ride/run on a
portion of the canal where we saw hawks, geese, lizards and snapping turtles.
It was a wonderful day to be outside and it was especially good to share it
with family members.

Seattle Live with Passion
Thirteen people gathered in Seattle on Saturday evening for the Live with Passion. The Seattle event kicked off the LWP season a little early due to some scheduling conflicts for the official LWP weekend. We decided to have a sunset walk along Alki beach and then finish off the evening with wine, cheese and yummy desserts. We lucked out as the weather was beautiful and the sunset stunning, and the company fabulous. Thank you for all who took part in the day and in supporting the PVs!
